There are several beaches in Glücksburg. And they all glisten with their own individual beauty. Whether a splendid natural beach, traditional swimming beach or a hidden paradise – one thing they all have in common is inimitable vast expanses and pleasantly shallow water. Ideal for all young guests!
There is a natural beach directly in front of your Glück in Sicht lodge, which we have equipped with comfortable “Strandkorbs” (canopied beach chairs). The water deepens very gradually, making the beach perfect for children or for a relaxing ocean experience in the morning and evening. An added plus: So that you can enjoy the beach to the fullest, each lodge has its own “Strandkorb” canopied beach chair – and it is already included in the rate!
A little tip: How about a leisurely picnic– far from all the hustle and bustle? Moreover, the natural beach is an ideal place to play and romp around on. With a view of the Ox Islands and Denmark!
Gorgeous, white chalky sand, as far as the eye can see! Sandwig beach is a real eye-catcher – and its very shallow sloping sea invites you to swim or just lay back and drift off!
Speaking of laidback: Check out the vibrant resort area and enjoy the easy-going atmosphere around the Strandhotel. When the sun is shining, a lot of local “Flensburgers” are out enjoying beach life to the fullest! Several dining and refreshment options, such as the Strandhotel restaurant, the Sandwig Bistro and the small kiosk, also attract guests. The ferry from Flensburg stops here, and if you want to rent a “Strandkorb” canopied beach chair or a SUP, Sandwig is the place to be. Take it from us: There's always something going on here!
The beautiful white sand beach in Drei stretches out over several kilometres. Here as well, you can comfortably wade into the ocean, since the water slopes down gradually. Ideal for kids!
There is a dedicated area for surfers and kiteboarders here. And if you are travelling with your four-legged friend, there is a separate dog beach as well. Food and drinks are also taken care of: The different beach sections offer various dining and refreshment options – including the San Remo Italian restaurant, for example, where you can enjoy lunch or a delicious dinner with a direct view of the water!

This isolated beach is located right on the shoreline trail – when you leave Glücksburg and head towards Flensburg. It is quite large and therefore perfect for long walks. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet. Another plus: Sports aficionados have access to a large climbing frame and a beach volleyball court.
This popular beach is located a little further away from the Glück in Sicht Ostseelodges, right next to the Langballigau marina. Langballigau is a charming, quaint town with several delicious culinary offerings.
Less swanky, but all the more welcoming, the town has a distinctive Nordic flair – and fish lovers in particular can delight their palates here. Many good fish restaurants lure in their guests with a wonderful selection of fish specialties. And the classic fish sandwiches are also a must, of course!
